Headache is a severe disabling disorder

Chronic migraine

Migraine is amongst the most common neurological disorders globally, affecting 1 in 5 women and 1 in 15 men.

Characterised by a severe throbbing head pain, migraine headache is often accompanied by additional neurological symptoms including nausea & vomiting.

Migraine attacks can last more than a day and in chronic migraine, sufferers experience debilitating migraine attacks on more than 15 days per month.

Consequently, when a migraine attack occurs, it has a severe impact on all aspects of life.

Cluster headache

Cluster headache has been described as one of the most painful conditions known to mankind.

Often described as ‘Suicide Headache’, cluster headache is characterised by excruciating one sided head pain typically felt behind the eye, around the temple & face. These attacks typically last from 15 minutes to a few hours and can occur up to 8 times per day. Cluster headaches typically occur in bouts lasting 4 to 12 weeks, but patients who suffer with chronic cluster headache experience attacks almost every day with no break.

neuromodulation for headache

Neurostimulation

Delivery of electrical current to the occipital nerves located at the back of the head has been shown to improve the severity and frequency of headache attacks. We are developing a novel, minimally invasive, battery free neurostimulation system to reduce the pain and frequency of severe headache attacks, that can be inserted in as little as 20 minutes.

Image Guided Therapies

Using our image guided navigation technology, we are able to deliver therapies with millimeter precision directly to nerve bundles involved in severe headache, interrupting the nerve signals to reduce the pain and frequency of attacks. Our innovative technology enables patients to benefit from a precision targeted injection in an outpatient environment in a short, awake, 15 minute procedure.
